Picture this: A classroom filled with young, smiling students who are actively reading, writing, and asking questions that reveal a passion to be life-long learners and critical thinkers. Isn't that exactly what we want every student to do in the classroom, so that they can become adults who contribute positively to society? The books that you fund will help these wonderful students have materials that they desperately need to promote their intellectual and emotional development. "The Outsiders" and "Romeo & Juliet" are staples of the English classroom because they are timeless. The level of student engagement with these texts has always been high, and the intellectual growth they make as they grapple with these texts shapes them into life-long learners who are passionate about reading and writing. Our books are falling apart. We need funding to replace our class sets of these classic texts so that we can continue to help these students turn their passion for these stories into real-life learning opportunities.
