Do you remember as a child the moments of getting lost in a good book? What it felt like when your parents told you it was time to go bed but you couldn't pull yourself from reading that last page? With modern technology and the world at our fingertips, many students are missing out on that moment. Reading for many students has become a chore of tasks and strategies they must do. Instead of the joy of finding out the adventure of what lies ahead for their favorite character, students are stuck with using reading strategies with texts they simply don't care about. I want to change that. I believe that the more interested the students are, the more eager they will be to read, and ultimately the higher they will grow. The books selected are engaging and funny. They are rich with descriptive language and main characters that they can analyze and relate to. These books will help boost their confidence and attitudes towards learning.
