I am requesting a laptop to help plan, differentiate, and implement instruction. The benefit of having a functional and up to date laptop in the classroom is that I will be able to maintain parent/student correspondence, maintain progress monitoring data, present content, and grade student work in a timely manner. With updated software, we will be able to access and hear videos to support content across subject areas, collaborate, research, create and deliver presentations with technology that is compatible with the existing technology in the classroom. My students are currently focused on a biography unit, which requires access to technology for videos, digital resources, and up to date information, as well as allows students to engage with their individuals in a modern way by creating a fake Facebook page for the person whose biography they are studying.
