It has been proven that students that read along with a book while listening to the story builds strong readers. Many of our Kindergarten students do not have the resources at home to read with their family. My wish is to build a reading center for Mrs. Mujkic's classroom for small groups. Students will be able to listen and read along classic stories such as Dr. Seuss and various classics such as This Old Man. Guiding reading is one of the best ways to differentiate. By grouping children by reading levels, we can target specific skills and strategies needed to advance to the next level. Small group work with guided reading is critical to meet the needs of all learners.”
