My students are in K4 and learn best through hands on methods. A sensory table would be a fun way that they could become active learners. The table I added to my project can be used with water or sand meaning the range of materials that they will explore can be endless. I have included letter and number tiles in my project so the children can make a game out of identifying letters and numbers. I want my students to walk into kindergarten with a good grasp on letters and numbers and what better to supplement that knowledge than with a game! I truly believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged and having fun! We would be able to change the materials in the water/sand table throughout the themes as well. One day they might be searching for letters and the next they will be digging up dinosaurs. Really the possibilities are endless!
