The instruments requested through this project are ones that would be so valuable to my classroom. I want to provide my students with the opportunity to learn a variety of musical genres and instruments that many would not have access to outside of schools such as World Percussion, Ukulele, and more. My students are noticeably more engaged in the instruction when they have hands-on opportunities to actually participate in the music rather than just watching videos of others playing. My older students, in particular, have shown rapid growth in reading music and are ready for the challenge of reading music to play an instrument. With the addition of these instruments, my students will better be able to be active participants in their music education. This will, in turn, provide a more inclusive and exciting classroom for these eager and curious learners. The soft seat spots will also provide comfort and help my students who have an extra tough time focusing to be more engaged.
