The use of iPads is a crucial everyday activity in my classroom. Students do their hands-on assignment and post their work on Seesaw, where parents get a window into our classroom and I get to better understand progress without the use of paper. Through Seesaw, I am also able to assign activities and students are completely engaged in capturing what they already know! Students also use other apps such as ChatterPix, Figment, Puppet Edu, Adobe Spark, Nearpod, FlipGrid, and Edpuzzle in which they all serve to easily engage and informally assess students. The problem is that I have 5-6 students in every center and we are only given two iPads per classroom. Students are having to wait for the iPad, which creates arguments and loss of instructional time. With these new iPads, my students will be able to effectively plan their ideas, allow them to work independently at their own pace, and share their creations with both their parents and me. Students will be able to only focus on what they are assigned to do and not have to figure out who will use the iPad first. Additionally, students will be working with technology, increasing their desire to learn and work daily!
