First grade Common Core standards involve learning about National Symbols. Our school utilizes Project Based Learning (PBL) to explore these standards. We will be applying PBL to learning about and creating our own national symbols into memorials and monuments. By donating to our project, you will provide LEGO bricks, which are one of the greatest specific, high-interest materials for students to use to express their individual creative talents. After writing letters, researching, and learning about national symbols and monuments the students will plan and execute, using LEGO Building Sets and Plates, the creation of their own national memorial or monument.
