Flexible seating options have become very important in any classroom. After spending so much time the past two years, back and forth with virtual learning, students truly appreciate the ability and privilege to learn comfortably. Thorough flexible seating, students begin to understand how they learn best, whether it be sitting on a carpet with a clipboard or lap desk, standing at a high top table, rocking on a stability ball, or wiggling on a wobble stool. My Super Leaders will benefit from being able to meet all together on a class carpet. This will be where Super Leaders will have morning meetings, end of the day celebrations, read alouds, mini lessons, center time, and even dance parties. Meeting together in such a way is not only conducive to learning, but it also allows the class to build a bond as a team and family. Standing desks will give students the ability to stand while working, or to sit on a high stool. This flexibility allows for students to move in a way that satisfies their need to be active, while not distracting others. Standing desks are also great for daily team leaders to give student-led lessons/reviews. Wobble Stools are so versatile because they can be size adjusted to fit a desk, table, or just at a comfortable sitting height with a clipboard. They allow students to rock side to side or front to back without falling. I am so excited to be able to show my Super Leaders how much their global community cares about them and their learning. They will be so excited and proud to take responsibility for these classroom additions.
