We have a strong Fine Arts Department with no ceramics or sculpture courses offered. We would like to change that. Our students could greatly benefit from learning the fundamentals of ceramics and sculpture. This would help in every area of their art expression. This kiln is the vehicle through which students can create 3D projects that will enhance and expand their knowledge beyond 2D design. It has been said that "the landscape of ceramics is a vast open-ended question, with links to design, the crafts, the art world, industry and engineering." We certainly believe this to be true and would love to give our students the freedom of expression that comes from working in 3D.
