Each day I lead small groups of students who are not meeting grade level goals in reading. They are often bummed out to have to leave their regular classroom environment and it is my goal to make my "mini-classroom" one they LOVE and are proud to show their friends. I found an old rug to put in the corner of my office, but by giving students these comfortable and not what they "normally see in school" folding seats to read in, the intervention environment will be complete and perfect! Students will get to read each and every day in these chairs, and will come to view reading as a positive experience. It may sound silly, but allowing them to sit in these comfortable chairs instead of reading on the rug, will inspire them and motivate them to come to love reading. With young students who already feel defeated when attempting to read, what would be better than effective intervention, encouragement, and an amazing chair to receive reading instruction in! By contributing to this project you are helping young students develop a love for reading and to learn they CAN DO IT!
