Coming to the "carpet" or the front of the room happens often in my room. It is where the students learn and where we become a community several times a day. Making this space a more comfortable space for them to learn and become actively engaged will keep them motivated in their daily learning. Having a more comfortable seating area will keep students engaged, less disruptive and increase their academic achievement. The rug and seats I have selected will give my students additional seating options when they come to the carpet. This will increase learning and active engagement during this time.
