Early childhood students learn best through active learning rather than passive learning. Experiential activities help students to learn about ideas and provides a visual for more complex content. However, during distance learning, work for my Kindergarteners has been mostly been on a tech device or printed worksheet pages.
These materials will provide the necessary hands-on learning opportunities for students that is essential to creating deeper understanding of concepts. Alphabet cards can be used for phonics practice or to spell out sight words. The students will be able to roll dice and match quantity to it's corresponding number. Wiki sticks are great for fine motor activities.
The possibilities are endless with these materials because they can be used cross-curricular areas as well. The students will be able to break apart and put back together unifix cubes for composing and decomposing numbers. They can also write letters on the cubes to make cvc words. There are a variety of templates I can provide to students to use with the materials in this Donors Choose Project.
