Because of Co-vid, I am seeing a huge decline in their social skills, language skills, fine motor skills, large gross motor skills and exposure to to the arts, especially the foundations of music and rhythm. The students in our early childhood building and elementary building have been quarantined and sheltered for so much of their early developmental years. These boom whackers, color music classroom decorations and storage bins will help me organize the boom whackers and other instruments I already have. They will also allow me to make the instruments available and visible to the students to get them excited about music while also teaching basic music skills, abilities and understanding. Fun, colorful, noisy, hands-on manipulatives make learning about music appealing, engaging, stimulating, and most of all, enjoyable.
