My students are in the third grade and come from various cultures and backgrounds. They share a love of reading and they were elated to learn that we are having a book club this year to promote the "love of reading". Some of my students shared they have limited access to books at home, so they enjoy school because there is such a variety of books to read. Their interests are as varied as their cultures. Some enjoy biographies, space, and wild life ; however, the majority prefer mysteries, realistic fiction, plays, fantasy, and books that are a series. I'm so excited to see my students' personalities shine through their love of reading!
