By purchasing books for these scholars, they will be able to continue to have a moment to escape from reality. Many of my students have factors outside of school that affect them, but reading allows them to ease their mind. Not only do students read the books individually, but they also discuss the book in a small reading group. By discussing the book in small groups they are building a life skill of conversation. In addition to having an escape from reality, scholars will also continue to have a love for reading.
