Many of the students I work with demonstrate decreased fine motor, visual perceptual and visual motor deficits. This combined with sensory processing This impacts their handwriting legibility in their writing tasks. Items requested in this project will help them improve their fine motor strength. Using pencil grips and pegs will help them get a better grasp on the writing utensil. By working with items like the pegs and peg boards, my students can increase their visual motor and attention span while also strengthening their intrinsic hand muscles which will in turn help them to produce improved handwriting. My student love to work for rewards and the sensory tubes are a great visual and auditory treats.
