Many of these items will help my students master listening, organization and comprehension skills. With so many great ideas circling in their heads it is often difficult to keep from blurting out and interrupting another speaker. The microphone will be a fun way for all students to respectively voice their thoughts, listen to others as well as encourage the quiet ones to express their ideas infant of the class. MCAS is right around the corner and mastering the ability to comprehend while reading will play a huge factor in smashing the MCAS. Being a third grader also means you are responsible for much more. Items such as the take home pouches and timer will increase these organization skills instead of using paper folders that are easily lost or ripped or allowing kids to see how much time is left on an assignment so to use their time responsibly. Many items will also make it easier for more information to be displayed in an organized fashion that will make for easier following along and learning!
