When students are able to read and write in a position of their choosing, I have found that they are more productive and focused as opposed to when they are confined to a desk. Bean bag chairs are an ideal alternative to traditional desks. Many of my students have had interrupted formal education and been out of school for years before immigrating to the US so sitting in a desk for eight hours a day is a real challenge. By being comfortable and relaxed in my classroom they can get down to the real work of learning English. Please help bring this reality to life for my students.
