The past two years, Covid-19 has had a significant impact on my students' wellbeing. More often, I am seeing students struggle with depression and wanting to be at school. In my classroom we try to make learning fun. My students and I are working together to make math a subject worth coming to school for. These math manipulatives can help us center our classroom lessons in the style that my kids are most engaged. Donating toward the Mrs Merrill's Math Manipulatives project will give students an opportunity to fall in love with math. My students are still learning how to communicate their thoughts on the math involved in different tasks and can get frustrated when they can't figure out how to explain their thinking. These manipulatives and white boards will allow me to gauge their thinking and coach them into articulating their ideas. Students will be able to appreciate math as a fun and hands-on subject. Please help me make my classroom a place where students can love learning.
