One of the many opportunities available are competitions to show welding mastery. One of the required forms is TIG. We can not compete without them knowing how to TIG weld. We have had several students compete at the state level in SKILLS USA. Right now, we can not compete due to the lack of the TIG welding torch which broke recently. We are located relatively close to an oil producing area which consistently uses students from this program. I am a firm believer in allowing students access to up to date equipment. We just don't have the money to repair what grant money has purchased.
