Our classroom is in need of some collaborative spaces. Currently, our furniture is bulky, outdated and uncomfortable. The desks are old computer desks which are lacking the ability to be combined into effective work spaces for group collaboration. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work. These tables will provide us space to spread out and collaborate on meaningful projects. My desire is to create a learning environment where my students WANT to spend their time. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
