Students will gain access to TIME for kids magazines in real time with current event information about our world today. Students are very disconnected from the real world and what is happening in the media. This project will fund their insight to understand current events and the importance of informational text. My students need to be aware of the world around them. TIME for Kids will provide that information to create strong classroom conversations and better insight into tough vocabulary, questioning, etc. Students will use the magazines to discuss topics and prepare for middle school. I believe that they will really love this yearly subscription.
