We are a school serving students from Los Angeles' eastside. We strive to send all students to a four-year college. We also want to give all students a traditional sports experience. However, some students might not be able to participate in a traditional sport. At East, we have found a solution! E-sports is a growing industry with a growing number of colleges offering scholarships. Esports are co-ed, inclusive to anybody who can use a computer and engage students who might not otherwise participate in extracurricular activities. Esports grants an opportunity for community, STEM engagement, critical thinking, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Our only drawback is not having a good PC for practice and competition; this project will allow our students to experience an Esport league they otherwise might not be able to participate in.
