Washington DC is a symbol of an experiment in democracy led by the founding fathers and built on the hopes and hard work of those who opposed tyranny and embraced freedom. Our students are learning about the nation’s capital and the role it played in the construction of an American identity. A visit to the African American Museum, will help students see, firsthand, the contributions of African Americans to the greatness of this nation. In addition to visiting museums and famous monuments, students will spend some time in Luray Caverns, a national natural landmark that will spark their interest in geology and the forces that shape our planet.
