The students at our Alternative High School will greatly benefit from hands on visuals in the art room. We do not have any textbooks for art. The students get very distracted if they have to look things up online. We try to do some reading and writing in every single class. This includes art! Having something they can hold and read will help increase their focus. Children problem solve when experimenting with art materials, and become life long learners. We will use the paints and wire for a sculpture. We are using recycled material, and will paint them with the metallic paints. This will be new for them as we haven't had paint like this before.
