Making art is therapeutic. Art can help all of us explore our emotions, improve self-esteem, relieve stress, improve the symptoms of anxiety, counteract depression and manage impulsivity or addictions. The tools and materials acquired when our project is funded will help to deliver lessons that teach creative principles and the elements of art and design so that our students may engage in the processes of conceptual development and making of art. In turn, students have shown to increase engagement, improve class attendance, demonstrate more positive social interactions, improve behaviors and report a greater sense of self-confidence and achievement in their academics.

About my class
