We're looking to bring the band back to Jamaica...Jamaica, Queens. Please help my very enthusiastic music students learn to play band instruments. We are requesting instruments and music stands for an opportunity to learn to play a wind or percussion instrument. Our school is a hotbed for the arts, with students taking classes in dance, visual arts and music from the age of 3 until the fifth grade. The school also is involved with two dance non-profits that teach dance classes during the days and offers music and drama in its after school program. Our children, however, really desire to learn how to perform on band instruments. They have the desire, the have the teacher -- they lack one component, the instruments. Please help our wonderful students learn to perform on instruments. All of the materials requested will be used to form a concert band for the students in third through fifth grade in my school. Instrument lessons will be offered during the day and after school and the band will perform two to four times a year during the school year for the school community. Please help us bring a fully immersive musical experience to my students. The band is back!
