The use of whiteboards is an classroom essential as my students can't afford enough notebooks to accommodate all of their subjects and practice. Once acquired, they will be almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using the workshop model in math, students come to the front with whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. It's an especially effective learning strategy for my special needs learners! I would like books and a rug to create a reading corner to serve as effective enrichment for students who finish their work early—this ensures they can continue to grow their own knowledge without distracting the learners with a slower comprehension or work speed. The rest of the products are for general classroom use. At the beginning of the year, I purchased as many supplies as I could out of pocket, but as a concurrent teacher and masters student, those funds don't go quite far enough! By now, many of the original supplies have run out. We would so appreciate any supplies sent our way!
