Help me give my preschoolers the visuals and motivation to help them understand and communicate with those around them. My students are in the early stages of learning to communicate with their peers and the world around them. Some are working on using words to ask for what they want, need, or think. Others struggle to use gestures or indicate a picture symbol to have their basic needs met. All of them benefit from the use of pictures and symbols to help them understand, request desired items or make comments. For students with communication delays, both mild and severe, the world can become overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating! This project centers around making communication accessible and entertaining! Story-books, laminate to make long-lasting visual companions, supplies for crafts help language come alive and motivate students to communicate with those around them. "Children learn through play, and in play they learn how to learn." Help me, help each of my students feel empowered and successful with the materials we create together!
