My students benefit from a variety of extension activities to support Nevada learning standards. By immersing learners with autism in hands-on learning such as arts & crafts, sensory activities, and building structures, they can demonstrate what they are learning. My students have limited communication skills. Thus, Arts & crafts activities help them express themselves. In the classroom, we learn the facts and information through discussion, but meaningful learning happens once students are engaged and doing it. We meet science and engineering standards by letting students do building structure activities. Sensory activities help my students stay calm and increase their working stamina. They love to work for more time to do these activities. By donating to our project, you will help my class bridge the gap caused by the pandemic. This project will help my students improve their working stamina and remain motivated and engaged in the lessons.
