Students are learning how to spell in the elementary school level. My students being behind grade level, have trouble spelling words or trying to sound them out. I want to change that by providing dictionaries for each student. This will help promote individual learning skills and will help students become more confident in their spelling. Becoming confident in their spelling will help promote better writing, reading, and vocabulary. They will be able to use these to look up new words and what they mean. If they get stuck reading and come across a word they do not know they can use the dictionaries to figure out how the word is pronounced. Students need the materials to help them become successful and by being able to provide a class set of dictionaries it will increase their self confidence in their work and be proud of their learning.
