Using these picture books will help my students connect to the concept of growth mindset. We will read the books as a starting point to our discussions or to enhance discussions we've already had. By having instant access to these books instead of waiting for them to be available through the library, I can tailor my instruction instantly to the needs of my students. Growth mindset teaches students that difficult doesn't mean impossible. Perseverance is something missing in today's educational setting. We need to teach our students to fight through the difficult times. Having a growth mindset allows them to be more successful in school, as well as become lifelong learners. It also teaches them to persevere through difficult problems in school, which make them more likely to persevere in life.
