I want to help kindergarten be a place where students of all learning styles feel included and celebrated. I have a lot of content and curriculum for traditional learning, but I really want to include music to stimulate the needs of my all of students who need more "hands-on" and active learning. My dream is to see and hear my students participating in a loud, joyful expression of learning. Studies show that putting instruments in the hands of young children ignites all areas of their development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. According to experts in the field of child development, introducing children to music helps their bodies and minds to work together. Exposing children to music during early development also helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words. It is for all of these reasons and so many more that I hope to get these instruments for my classroom.
