The materials I have chosen will help my students learn that they are not alone in the challenges they face in life. Giving children an opportunity to learn about their emotions and how to manage them and respond positively to others can be a life changer for children. It is when children feel powerless to change themselves or their circumstance that they often engage in aggressive behaviors, isolate or self-harm. The earlier these children learn important life and social skills, the more confident they will be. Increased confidence leads to increased capacities for learning and abilities to make good life decisions. These materials will make our students social emotional learning fun, and applicable to everyday living and coping.
