Engagement is a key to successful learning. No matter what I teach, I always try to engage my students into the lesson through various experiments, activities, discussions, etc. Confucius once said ''I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand. This is so true. All materials I asked for will help increase my students' engagement in learning. For example, with VR goggle, my students can experience and understand how seasons is formed in a better way. When I just use videos or pictures, my students were confused why the Earth looks all dark in fall and all bright in spring. They are actually as the same as winter and summer time (half dark and half bright on Earth) due to the vision limitation in video or pictures. VR Goggle will help my students understand better. Not just Science, I can also use VR Goggle when I teach Chinese and Social Studies. For example, when my students learn about the Great Wall of China, they can experience walking there with the goggle even they can't physically be there. It will connect my students to the real world, and it will make instruction more efficient and effective. It directly benefits my student's learning.
