My students are fortunate enough to be able to use Chromebooks every day; however, many of the websites and activities require headphones. We use Lexia, Nearpod, and Youtube in the classroom for differentiated learning. All of these websites utilize sound. The lack of headphones causes anxiety and poor scores for those students that need a story or text read to them but can not hear it due to the noise of the other students and computers. Not having a set of headphones for each student makes it where these 21st-century learners are not able to fully utilize the great blended learning opportunities available to them.
