I work in the underprivileged neighborhood of Brownsville, Brooklyn, NY. My scholars are dynamic individuals with a thirst for knowledge. As a Special Education teacher, I am tasked with finding creative ways to tap into their minds and help them gain knowledge in every subject area. It is important for us to look past their disabilities and recognize their individual strengths and different learning styles. I am always looking for ways to make my classroom interactive and give scholars opportunities to engage in the learning process. Having a document camera and projector will allow me to include technology in my lessons as I have scholars share their work to the entire class. I also want to incorporate "student" teaching with them leading sections of the lesson. I am excited to bring these things to my class.
