I currently use a website called Teach Your Monster To Read. This website helps students develop the skills they need to become readers. I also use a website called EPIC! which allows them to access thousands of books online. They can find books of any genre, and any reading level. Mixing my instruction with sites such as these allows students to remain engaged during the school day. I do not currently have the resources available to let students engage in the online learning daily. With the help of this donation, more students will be able to develop and practice their reading skills using online programs. These Chromebooks will allow my students to use websites for online reading and literacy exploration. I currently only have two computers in my room and an additional two would allow me to create a technology center for my Daily 5 rotations. This will allow more students to have a chance to use a computer at school. I do not have enough now to let them use it daily, sometimes not weekly. Additional technology resources in our room will help me enhance instruction for my students. Keeping school fun and exciting is so important, especially in the primary grades.
