My students engage in learning Math and Science. A large part of their time spent learning is inflexible, cooperative groups. Having round tables will help the students to physically focus and contribute to a central task. This type of seating also provides a larger workspace for using manipulatives in Math and performing experiments in Science. In addition, using round tables helps use the limited space in our small classroom so that students are better able to move about the room. Besides the round student tables, you will see a request for a kidney shaped table allowing me to work more productively with small groups.
