My project focuses on helping my students learn, recognize and write their letters. Prewriting skills are imperative to the fundamental development of students, especially the little ones. The items I chose in my cart will help me differentiate the learning of my students and assist them in learning their letters. For example, at Eagle Academy we teach our students by implementing small groups. These groups allow for students to get the one on one instruction they may need to show progress throughout the semester and school year. A lot of the materials I chose such as the writing and crafting letter devices and even the BINGO game, can be used during small group instruction to help them learn their letters. As a teacher, I have learned over the years that students learn better from their peers and through play. So, by receiving these materials over time I hope that they will be able to play these games themselves. This will give them more autonomy over their learning and development.
