Help me give my students sets of decodable chapter books with colorful pictures to increase student engagement for phonics and fluency instruction and guided practice. My students love to read decodable chapter books with colorful pictures to increase engagement. We read chorally with direct instruction given throughout the student reading session on words that students get stuck on. During these lessons, students receive guided instruction with practiced multi-sensory reading strategies that focus on where to divide a word into syllables, how to identify the syllable type, and recognize phonics patterns. Students are motivated and engaged as they strengthen their decoding and fluency skills. I love to see the reading confidence of my students grow!
