My students come from a predominantly low-income community, with a near 50/50 mix of Black and White students who genuinely care about one another. Many are the first in their families to imagine a future beyond high school, as their parents work long hours in minimum-wage jobs and often haven’t had the chance to attend college. School becomes the place where they start to believe their lives can look different. A color printer will help their projects come to life in ways they’ve never seen. When their work is printed in bright, vibrant detail, they begin to see the value of their ideas and how they can truly make a difference. This simple tool builds confidence, pride, and a sense of possibility in students who are still learning to believe in their own potential.
