They said art is for everybody. It chooses no one. It has no boundaries. No race issues. No disability that can stop someone from being creative. Since it is universal, people get to express their emotions and feelings through art. Children with autism have difficulties connecting with people. They lack some social skills that keep people away from them. Distant and isolated. But in our school, we believe in "A Spectrum of Learning." They can learn things they needed to learn but with hope and perseverance from the teachers. My team in Variety Special School envisions to help these students with autism explore the world of painting. Aside from teaching them the behavior skills they needed to Since painting is therapeutic in nature, this activity will help our children learn how to focus, gain self-control, and learn the value of patience. This activity aims not only to collect students' artworks, but also to boost students' morale, self-confidence, and self-efficacy through an art exhibition. These students' are capable of appreciating art most especially their own outputs. Being able to create something despite the hurdles they have behaviorally will inspire families, friends, and the community on the power of paints and palettes.
