These books are ideal for both individual-read and buddy-read. These 44 beginning reading books are authored by renowned reading guru, Margaret Hillert. Hillert is known world-wide for her research-based reading instruction and early learner books. Since my students have recently discovered a few of Hillert's books, I can confidently predict the collective response when they discover almost four dozen of her other books. They will shout for joy and enthusiasm! I have hand-selected the very best reading resources which will effectively bait and hook each individual student in our first grade class community. These customized texts and accompanying illustrations are targeted to improve all aspects of early learning reading instruction, including phonemic awareness, rhyming, sight word mastery, phonics, comprehension, and fluency. Hence, the "key" to persuading 6 and 7 year olds the "why" for wanting to do the hard work of learning how to read is easy access to literature that empowers early learners to act like authentic readers!
