STEM is a big focus at my school, especially in my class where I serve gifted scholars. Every Thursday and Friday, I set aside time for scientific inquiry and group exploration. I present my scholars with a problem and they are prompted to use the scientific method and their creative imagination to explore ways to develop a solution. STEM resources are extremely limited, and I find myself spending a great deal of money to provide the basic necessities for each lesson. My scholars thrive in an environment that is conducive to learning. Lately, we have been using the same STEM materials. I'm afraid that I will lose my scholars' interests over time.
