Pine Crest serves 450 3rd and 4th graders, the majority of which are Title I, ESOL, and/or receive F.A.R.M.S. With No Child Left Behind and Race To The Top policies, art programs are being cut all over the country so that more room can be made to teach toward the test. Without art and an integrated curriculum in general, my students have very little life experiences to incorporate into their understanding of the arts or to motivate them about learning.

About my class
