My students are starving for good literature. With a limited budget, schools can only contribute so much to the increasing need for books in the classroom. So much of what we have is, quite frankly, boring and not challenging. My goal is to introduce students to books they can't put down. I want them to come in to my classroom and ask if we get to read today. I want them sitting on the edges of their seats to find out what happens to their favorite character while learning new vocabulary and analyzing diction used to create mood. Without rich literature, students will never experience the love of reading. Help me entice my students to read by providing a class set of Lord of the Flies.
