Our students will be reading daily and participating in literary discussions. This high-interest reading will capture their attention. It will inspire them to continue reading and learning. Because our students spend so much of their time learning on computers, it will benefit them greatly to interact with teachers and their peers on topics and assignments related to this novel. Active reading and writing strategies accompanying this novel will improve their overall reading and writing skills. Students will have the option of using the reading as part of a course for credit. We are seeking to motivate and inspire students through the reading of this novel.
