In my classroom, I want my students to have accessibility to multiple STEM centers during pretend and play. With this access to multiple centers, I believe it will increase their chance to engage with real-life careers with their peers. At this young age my students will begin to spark and interest in multiple careers. With the use of STEM manipulatives like the Magna Tiles and LEGO building kit, I am hoping to inspire the potential in my future engineers, by understanding the building blocks of complex concepts with effort and determination. My students will also be able to use the doctor play kit. With this tool, they will begin to explore the important role in their health care industry and helping others. With all of these contributions, I am hoping to offset the economical disadvantage of my community by giving them the opportunity to learn with advanced and modern manipulatives. I believe it is important to expose my students to careers that are aimed at science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
